Swedish Kavring Bread

Kavring is a very popular Swedish bread, Christmas, Midsummer and Graduation are popular times to eat it. It is very easy to bake, once you’ve put it in the oven, you don’t have to do much more. A bonus is, when baking it  a very pleasant smell that is spread throughout your home. Try it out! My family know how much I love this bread, as I think we ate it throughout the whole last summer….

Recept/Recipe

2.4 cups / 6 dl cups of flour

1.2 cups / 3 dl  of fine rye flour

1.2 cups / 3 dl of a rougher rye flour

2 teaspoons bicarbonate (soda?)

3 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon of dried, minced fennel /

1 tablespoon minced anise

2.4 cups / 6 dl of natural yoghurt (fat between 2.5-3.5%)

0.6 / 1.5 dl cups of dark syrup

1.Heat the oven to 300 Fahrenheit / 150 °C . Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add yoghurt and syrup.

2. Put the mix in a tin that’s buttered on the inside. The bread is cooked in the lower part of the oven for 1 hour and 30 min. Please notice that all ovens are different… When the bread is finished you will see that it’s loosened from the edges, which makes it easy to remove.

3. Enjoy!

P.S The bread goes really well with a harder goat (or any hard) cheese.

cupcake magic

Image

on occasion I love a tasty cupcake. I might sound boring but I love the traditional cupcake, spongecake muffin with the cream-cheese frosting. As valentines day is coming up, i thought i would make a post about cupcakes, as i think it can be the perfect valentines gift, instead of some chocolate stuffed teddybear from the supermarket. A cute cupcake with some cute decoration is such an thoughtful valentines present.

so I will give you my recipe and hopefully you can make your valentine date a happy one! ❤
