As we woke up to a grey Germany, it didn’t really matter to us as it was time to jump in the  car and hit the roads once again.  Autobahn as always had some heavy traffic, but who am I to complain, after all we was on vacation. After several hours of driving, we arrived in a picturesque town called Zell (mosel). Where I was throned as King Charlie of Zell.

Who wouldn’t sleep like a knight in a tower of that kind. I sure felt like King Arthur, in my tower!

IMG_3423 Our room was fab, we travelled a few hundred years back in time to get some sleep, I did indeed reload my energy to head out on the battle field

or in our case, to explore zell

and drink some wine 😉 (don’t mind the garbage cans in the background, the wine didn’t taste like garbage at all, it was indeed very very good.)

After a nights sleep and a warriors breakfast we headed over to Cochem, a slightly bigger town, with an even bigger castle so we decided we try to fight for it.

Cochem was very cute, but the a bit to touristy for my tastebuds, but the castle was defiantly in my taste. so started our long voyage to concur it.
IMG_3565who wouldn’t want a castle with that VIEW!

Injudiciously after a long battle, we lost the war, but the consolation prize wasn’t to shabby, a bottle of wine and some lunch looking out over the river.

IMG_0742bad picture but it was the only one that was snapped during lunch.

we headed back to our own castle, and had a night in at the hotels restaurant, with deep conversation (yes music, wine and food are deep conversation or am I wrong?) and lots of wine.

IMG_0745 and before we knew it my last my as a reigning monarch was over and it was time to be dethroned.

I saluted my castle in Zell and we started to head north.

Roadtrip part 2

Good morning,

here its a rainy Monday morning which gets you to miss the summer just a tiny bit, I thought I would cure our summer blues on this rainy Monday morning with roadtrip part 2, but it might just do more damage than good and make us long for our next summer adventure.

it was time to say Arriverdeci to lake Como.
and head north, towards Germany through Switzerland, Austria and some very, very high mountains…
and finally we were up on the top, and who wouldn’t want to photograph that view.

After many hours in our car, we finally reached our destination at bodensee for a nights sleep, next to a barn. before it was time to hit the roads again.

Saturday morning

there is something about Saturday mornings that is just incredibly calm, isn’t it. It doesn’t matter if you have had an hectic week in the office or if you have a deadline on Monday morning, Saturday mornings are just calm.

This morning we headed out for breakfast at a local french café, and we went very french, with coffee, pain au chocolat, and fresh squeezed orange juice before taking a stroll around the artsy part of town and heading into a few stores and buying a birthday present for by beau’s father.

saturday strolls ❤

Now its time to prepare a very very late Saturday lunch

Love                                                                                                                                        Charlie

roadtrip 2015 part 1

Hello,                                                                                                                                hopefully I still have some readers after my very very long break on Charlies world but my motivation and joy for it is back and hopefully it will be working better this year.      September is a strange month,  it can never quite decide if it wants to be winter or summer, sometimes you will leave the house in the pouring rain and by lunch it is boiling hot!

Today its pouring down and I thought that I would start blogging again, for two reasons; I really miss it and I love to write although I never have stopped writing it’s a great way to keep your life documented.

I thought that i would share my summer travels with Charlie’s world. but it will be divided into several parts, as i do have a million pictures, so be prepared for a long one, so pace yourself! grab a cuppa and maybe a biscuit.

we stayed in the beautiful villa belvedere in Argegno, by the beautiful como lake.

our balcony view wasn’t too shabby. I felt right at home with the mountains and the water and all the boats, I could have moved there in a blink of an eye

as the night sprung upon us, we headed to the hotels restaurant which had this amazing view and fed our hungry bellies.
the following morning we woke up to this!
after eating breakfast we caught the bus (which at como lake is a boat) and headed over to a dream come true of mine – Villa Carlotta
villa carlotta1JPG
and there she was, one of my dreams, that finally came true.

And there I was infront of my dream house named after me (Carlotta is the Italian version of Charlotte) hard not to be smiling when you are visiting your own estate!

then it was time to say good bye to villa Carlotta and head over to Bellagio for lunch,

where I sat and look over my new home (let a girl dream) while drinking wine and pimm’s

before we headed back home for some swimming in the lake

before once again filling up our stomach’s with some amazing italian food, and when you travel through Italy you must eat some Pizza. This leek and salmon pizza at ristorante pizzetta was the best I ever had.

Until next time ❤
